CNA Training Program Costs

I am not 100% certain on the programs in south Florida, but if I were you, I'd shop around a little more, just maybe at a couple of other places and see what prices are for the CNA program offered. I live in Georgia and I can enroll in a CNA program for only $489 + a $25 application fee, along with book costs, but even then it would not add up to the price they gave you there. I'd have to go a total of 140 hours over a 3-month span. Just shop around, you might be able to find some place more affordable. Check into some senior living communities in your area and other places that offer the course and see what you can find. Best of luck! :)

The Red Cross class here runs around $1500. Some of my classmates took it through a work-force program...all expenses paid.

i'm also in s. florida (fort laud), the lowest i've seen is $650 not incld. the book & uniform. mcfatter tech offers it and the tution is $366 plus many other few & requirments. by the time it adds up your right back to more than $700. then it's only offered in the day hours but the shortest around.

go to doh.fl.com and look for the list of approved cna classes. you can call each one near you and get pricing. i think i will attend a.n.i. voc. inst. it's $650 for 5 1/2wk. i was also looking into center for career training it's $790 for 7wks.

as far as i know the red cross doesn't offer cna in our area and i'm saving my chance for the workforce program for the lpn program.

Hello, Yes, I just contacted McFatter and am going to meet with them in January to start then. The rep did mention some additional costs, but even if it goes up to 700, it will save me over 1000 and I can go into the LPN program right afterwards in March. 1800 was just way too much, the LPN program at McFatter starts a bit over 3000!. Wishing you all the best as well, maybe we will run across each other in a nursing home down this way after school! I am getting out of the transcription field to go into nursing, after many years, so really looking forward to the change, only have to get over needles, but I have spoken with several RNs who said that it will happen and become second nature.

Yes, Mcfatter does have an advantage with offering all the other programs and they are accredited in all. The more I look into my schedule, and responsiblities the more it appears I will be at Mcfatter also. The January class starts the 23rd. Also, the good thing about the extra fees (immuz, background,drugtest) when you enter the LPN within a year you don't have to do these over.

I called and spoke with Ms. MacWilliams? yesterday and set up an appointment to meet with her on the 9th of January for orientation for the classes on the 23rd, it is during the day 3 times a week, but then we have 2 "online" days which is perfect, so I will see you in class, I am so thrilled to be going back to school! FYI: I'm in a different state, Cali, and out here, CNA programs range from nearly free at the community college up to about $2,000. I paid $945 plus the state test fee for my class. It was full time for 20 days.

I went to a training center in the South Florida area today to meet with a representative to begin the CNA program in January, super excited but here is the kicker...the price quoted was 1,800 for a 9 week course (5 days a week)! Seems steep to me because when I initially contacted the school, I am quite certain I was told the classes were 4 weeks and the cost was 800. They do have a great interest free payment plan over 12 months which makes it really affordable and I do plan on beginning an LPN program at the end of March, so it is perfect timing. My question; is this a comparable price? Also, I have to pay 70 for the textbook Thanks for the replies!

Back in 12/09, I attended a 4-week long course at the American Red Cross for $1,200. The tuition covered uniforms, medical supplies, and handbooks. Along with a shot at the NNAAP exam.

I live in PA and am starting a CNA class Jan 3rd. It is through UPMC so it is all paid from them and I will work at one of their LTC facilities when I am finished in four weeks. They pay you while you are in school as well. In April I am starting at their LPN school. There seems to be a lot of LTC facilities around here that will give you the training for free. I had also heard the community college close by offered it for about $700

Wow, that's a great opportunity! With the economy as it is I don't think that is available to us here in S. Fl. I look forward to being excepted into a LPN program also for this new year.
