Classes at two schools?

Nursing Students Pre-Nursing

Published

So I live in Florida... and am technically a student at Valencia CC but have been accepted to Seminole CC. I need 6 classes to finish my pre-reqs. Do you think I'd be able to go to both schools (They have different schedules so it would be nice to be able to pick which classes I want to take.) I do plan to ask them this when I go to my advisement meeting on Tuesday but what do you think? Has anyone done this before?

I don't see why not. When I went to college after high school in 2003 I was attending the University of Arizona and Pima Community College.

Ask you advisor at the school you want to attend nursing school at. They will tell you what classes they will accept and from whom. The last thing you want to do is pay for, attend, and complete a class that they won't accept.

I know they'll accept them because I had originally planned to go to VCC and transfer to SCC and they told me that was fine.

I am going to University of Phoenix pursueing my B.A. in Psychology until I get accepted into a nursing program. I have to attend the cc to get my science classes done. Goodluck :)

i took my pre reqs at 3 schools and it was not a problem. good luck.

I attend two currently, As well as took 6 credits at one and 7 credits at another last year. The only thing you can't do it get Stafford Loans at both schools. You can only get it at one and you can work with the other to get a waiver on tuition for the other until your finc. aide funds if they will work with you. Mine did.

I'm pretty sure that would be fine - it is around here in CA, at least. The prereq classes fill up so fast that many people don't really have a choice but to go to two or more schools.

As long as both schools are accredited (which it sounds like they are -- public CCs, right?) then it won't be an issue at all.

My prerequisites came from several different schools but they were all accredited.

As long as you can handle all classes...why not? Next semester, I'm going to two different schools myself! Good luck! I admire your drive.
