Hi! In addition to my nursing classes I have to take biochemistry, stats, and a history class to get my BSN. I would like to take as many classes in a term as I can handle due to funds and time. I would love some suggestions on which to take first (the ones which require the least amount of time to finish) thanks so much! I am very used to self paced schooling since I graduated from Excelsior with ASN. Amber:yes:

I just finished pre nursing and my student mentor set up my classes for me and I was able to fly through them relatively quickly. Biochem I finished in about 4.5 weeks (only tasks; lots of drawings and essays), stats 5 weeks (only an objective assessment; about 67 questions). I finished 20 credit units in my 1st term in 5 months. I now have a month break and could have fit one more class in. It is very self paced and usually easy to get through quickly. Good Luck.

If you get to pick, I'd start with the easier ones first. Get as many out if the way as possible, you will be more motivated ot be done towards the end. If you are good at nurtition start there. Maybe your mentor can steer you toward the easier ones to ease into it.
I am not sure if I will be allowed to pick...I hope so. I have to get biochem., stats, and a history course out of the way then all I have to worry about are the nursing ones. I want to move as fast as possible!

I just started April 1st and will have three classes done already. I actually did stats first and am so glad I got it out of the way. I just finished biochem. It took me 4 weeks because I procrastinated. I will finish care of the older adult in another week and then will tackle history. I am hoping to have it done in 3 weeks. Then I will do Health assessments and that will probably be it for this first term.

Anyone who wants to complete the RN-to-BSN program in one six-month term would be wise to finish C228 (Community & Population Health) first.
C228 is a prerequisite to the time-consuming C229 (Community Health Field Experience). You cannot complete C229 without having first completed C228.

i don't think this would be allowed anymore. According to some of the mentors you now have to complete all pre reqs before you are allowed to start nursing classes. Apparently some mentors don't enforce this new guideline though.
I started June 1st, according to my mentor there have been some recent changes that make some of the courses harder, and there is more guidance on order of classes. I suppose if you get an old school mentor you may still be in the drivers seat, but I think overall they are encouraging a slower to more moderate pace.
I just finished the history class, it wasn't difficult but it was a ton of info and memorization. It took me about 3 weeks, I would have been done in 2 but had to wait for my camera for final exam. I reccomend joining the Facebook group, it's fantastic for questions like this. https://www.facebook.com/groups/169565879797793/?fref=nf
I tried to join the group ut I have to be within 1 month of my start date before they will allow me to join.
