Class of 2006

Hey yall!

Just wondering if there are any of us out there still working on pre-reqs - hopeful nursing graduates of 2006?

Roll call! :)

I'm the 26yo mama of two boys (5yrs and 18mos). I work FT right now and am taking my pre-reqs at night. Hoping to get into a BSN program and start my nursing core/clinicals in fall 2004!

Thanks guys!

When will you find out if you got an interview, A? :)

Good luck KBella, the waiting is awful!

Good luck Rhiannon, welcome to "the club!" :chuckle

I have sons myself - ages 5 and 2 years.

I just got signed up for first term summer courses. Looks like I'll be taking water aerobics and weight training every morning Mon - Fri for a month and working in the afternoons. Did I mention I'm terrified of leaving my job (probably because I've been the family's breadwinner for nearly 6 years).

Manna,

interview letters won't go out until sometime in May and the actual interviews won't happen until the end of May and I won't know if I get in until the middle of June!!! anyway

you should enjoy the water aerobics class. I took it one time at the Y and it really is a great workout. you'll be totally buff by the time your nursing program starts! when are you quitting your job?

I'll keep my fingers crossed for you - Keep us posted!

I'll be cutting my work down to part-time beginning the first week of June - will have those PE-type classes in the morning, then come home (60 mile commute) and work afternoons. Nursing classes begin July 7th, so I'll probably quit work altogether that week. :)

Thanks Manna! I am not sure if anyone has ever heard of William Jewell College in Kansas City. But apparently they have a pretty good BSN program. Most people on allnurses seem to be really smart which makes me feel better about the future of our healthcare!

Hi!

I posted on this thread before, but I have an update! I am for sure accepted into the RN (associate degree) 2006 graduating class, however........I found out that my hubby and I are expecting our third child on September 29th I start my nursing classes Monday the 20th of Sept and clinicals that friday!!!

I am still going just have alot on my plate!!!!!!!!

Good luck to all of us 2006'ers!!!!!!!!!!

My mother called me and asked me what do I think of taking a family trip to Jamaica in May 2006 because that's when my brother and stepsister will be graduating from high school. I was like THAT'S WHEN I'LL BE GRADUATING NURSING SCHOOL, LET'S DO IT!!!!!!! Just another motivational factor to keep me going. God is sooo good to me.

Rhiannon - I've never heard of it, but then I've led a pretty sheltered life (never lived outside of Mississippi and have traveled very little) :chuckle

Compassion - Congrats! How exciting - but sounds like you're going to have your hands full! Regardless, I always say - there's nothing as sweet as a baby! Good luck!

JEmommy - Sounds like a blast - something else to look forward to! I love going on trips with my family (we're very close) - planning one to Disney in a few years... I was hoping my folks would take us on a vacation before I started nursing school (they did that for my brother before he started med school a few years ago), but no such luck. :chuckle

I had finals today, and..... I passed Chemistry with a C! There's still a few projects to be graded, so there's a VERY slim chance I'll end up with a B... not holding my breath on that one, though. Never thought I'd be so happy to have a C in my life! :balloons:

Just got home from my Dad's house (who also is the supervisor of the dept where I work, and my boss's boss) and he asked, "so when are you putting in your notice at work?"

I'm terrified and unbelievably excited at the same time... Looks like nursing classes for me will be starting July 7th! Hooray! :D

Congratulations! Was it General Chemistry?

Congratulations! Was it General Chemistry?

Yes - General Chem, I was taking it entirely online! Turns out, I did better than I ever dreamed - Once the prof finally graded all my labs today, final grade- a B! :)

That's great! You must have a lot of self discipline!! I couldn't imagine taking chemestry on line! Good for you!

Way to go! Congrats on the B, manna!!

I finally got THE letter!! The school was taking its time but finally they decided to start accepting and I was one of them. I had about decided to just take some more courses next fall and apply to another school. Was not looking forward to trying to get my transcripts again. Now I have a bunch of new things to worry about...Hep B shots, titers, PPds, uniforms, books... scary stuff!! :uhoh21: Well, anyway, I'm excited and my family is in for a shock when I quit waiting on them!! Can't wait!! Mary
