Congratulations to all of you! What an exciting letter that must have been.
My husband, who also went through a demanding master's program, says that the best part of grad school is the time between when you are accepted and when you start. So live it up!
Congrats to all who were accepted. I'm sure this feels like a relief. I feel very fortunate and lucky to have been accepted. I look forward to meeting everyone in Sept.
I wonder if I'm jumping the gun here. I know I've been informed by the director that I've been placed on the acceptance list, but now that list goes to an admission committee to determine if I am acceptable or not. UC's web site says the committee bases decisions on experience, references, test scores, and GPA, and recommendation of the interviewer. Has anyone not got in after being placed on the acceptance list? Or is this merely a formality? Are alternates determined at this time? Or have others been notified early that they may be alternates? I guess I'm thinking this may be too good to be true for me, since I really want in the program. Does anyone know about this process?
Royalkeister,
I took the message in the e-mail as an acceptance, with approvial by the nursing admissions committee simply being a formality. When the director told me she would notify by e-mail those who were accepted, she also said, "then you will receive a formal letter from the school of nursing in December." I don't think you have anything to worry about.
