Take the CEN class. Seriously. It's worth it.

I just bought a CEN review book and studied Mark Boswells stuff. I practiced 5 tests over a few months. Don't give yourself too big a time frame, for example, 4 months is good but if you give yourself a year you'll never get motivated. Good luck :)

I did not purchase anything to study. My unit had a subscription to a testing bank through the ENA website and you can do the practice questions as many times as you want (with rationales). I liked studying on the computer since that's how the test is administered and it was easy to set daily goals to complete a certain amount of questions. I looked online (reputable sites, obviously) for clarification on any questions I was still struggling with. I had the hardest time with psychosocial questions on the CEN exam and really appreciated the online practice since it's not something you can really "study" any other way.
Good luck!

Check with your local ENA chapter. They may have things planned.
