CCSF ADN Program Fall 2014

Just found out I'm #76 on the list for CCSF's RN program for Fall 2014.

Anyone else in this lottery? Thoughts? Comments?

Not so sure what I should be thinking/feeling at this moment, lol.

Okay, lol. Thanks for your reply! I just wanted to make sure it wasn't too early to give them a call, haha.

For TEAS.

I would for sure call! Talk to ------------. I think the dates are either late April or early may.

I got accepted to another school but it's out of state and significantly more for a BSN program. Most likely I will be calling in this week to withdraw my acceptance. Good luck to everyone that got in.

Did anyone attend ccsf orientation? What did you guys think about the program? With the accreditation clarification? I would love to hear your thoughts! Thanks.

Hey, I was at CCSF orientation on wed. I also accepted to another school in Fremont but for spring 2015. I got a good feeling at the orientation and it gave me a little more confidence about their accreditation situation. But I was raised not to trust anything people say, so I am still not sure which school I am going to choose. They say they will take care of us even if smth is to happen but u never know. At the same time I know a nurse who graduated from ccsf and got a job afterwards. She said only good things about the school. Of course she went there 9 years ago, things have changed since then.

What is your opinion after orientation?

Hey, thanks for your quick response! My opinions are exactly in the same boat as yours. I would love to attend, but as you mention, you will never know. She also stated something like if something happens, "by law" they have to let us finish? Did you catch that? I wasn't sure what she meant about that. I also have friends who graduated and only said good things about the program. However, I sense a little biased in their opinions but it's a good food for thought. It's a shame that they don't let us see their skills lab. I saw csm skills lab and it was absolutely AMAZING.

Also, is anyone worried about the CCSF clinical sites? It's just so confusing and frustrating that they don't even know where clinical sites will be considering classes will begin in roughly 2 and a half month.

I was at the orientation. I felt it went pretty well. They provided all the information we need about the program and I felt they were pretty straight forward about the whole accreditation thing. I have heard nothing but good things about CCSF's program. I've heard from numerous people that even if they shut their doors, we are guaranteed to finish the program, even if it's at another school. I feel like the whole clinical thing is out of their control because of cpmc and I'm sure they will get a site for us. CCSF's program is pretty recognized so I think we will be good. If you've seen CSMs skills lab, you definitely won't be impressed by CCSF's. Theirs is a lot more old school, whereas csm's almost resembles a real hospital. I was at CSMs orientation today, but I feel like I enjoyed city's more. What are your thoughts about everything? Sorry I feel like I went on forever lol
