CCAC Spring 2010

Just curious if any who have applied have heard if they've been accepted to CCAC Nursing program for Spring 2010 admittance?

Also, does anyone out there know what the likelihood is of getting your fist choice?

Thanks for the info, everyone! I called a while ago just to make sure they had my application (because I see that they've "lost" them before) and they told me they had it, but thats all they would say! They need to send the letters out ASAP! This is sloooowwwllyy driving my crazy!!:lol_hitti Good Luck to everyone!

I feel everyone's pain! I hope somehow posting this will be cathartic - I am so sick of checking the mail constantly. Usually I am fairly calm but this is a life and career altering event. I feel confident in my qualifications (91% on the NET, 3.9 GPA, B in A&P) but I am rather nervous that I missed some paper or prereq in my application. I'm not sure if I can wait until November! I wish I could contribute something useful, but certainly I wish everyone here the best of luck.

I was able to spend some time today with someone in the nursing program. The little I was able to ascertain is the master list has not been generated yet, they expect that list in the next few days. From that list, the letters are mailed out. Each campus is expecting to fill all open seats, there may be a wait list for those who either pass on the seat or do not meet the entry qualifications.

So, you can read into that at your campus, someone in the nursing department will have the master list before the letters are mailed. If you have a relationship with the nursing secretary, you may get an edge and not stress out looking for the mail.

Betty67 I too have Cal as my 1st choice and Allegheny as my 2nd! Good luck to everyone!! The waiting is killing me too....i stopped watching my mailbox, figuring it was like the watched pot never boils sort of thing. LOL If anyone on here gets their letter, please share with the group!!!! :yeah:

I too have been checking my mail everyday religiously for the past week! I'm going insane waiting. I'm getting nervous though because I haven't taken ap2 or micro yet. Allegheny is my first choice and my only option (i don't have a car, can't afford to move).

Good Luck Everyone!

Don't worry, i'm in A+P 1 now and haven't taken micro yet either. They say it's good to have all the non-nursing classes done ahead of time, but it's not required :specs:

I'm in A+P 1 right now at CCAC South Campus, so I just have A+P2 and Micro left to finish. What about you? :specs:

OMG! I am at south campus too! Who do you have for a&p 1 ? I had dr. lax and I am in her a&p 2 now. She is an awesome teacher! Wow that is so great that you are at south! I am there on M, W, F. What days are you there? If you are there the same days maybe we can meet up sometime in between classes.

LOL I have Lax now MWF from 8am-9am for lecture and Lab on W from 10am-12p I usually run to work right after class, but this coming wednesday I'm off work if you will be on campus and want to meet up!

Ok! I am in math until noon and then I have dr. lax from 12:30 until 1:30. I can meet you after your lab or at 1:30 after my class. Either way works for me, let me know which one works better for you. How is a&p 1 going? I love a&p 2! I got a "B" in a&p 1 so far I have an "A" in a&p 2.

I would like to wish all applicants the best of luck! This waiting part is very stressful  I am trying to be optimistic and think of a plan B, C, D! CCAC is not the only nursing program in the city. I want to get accepted, but if I don't I will give myself a day or two to sulk :crying2: but then move on! I think they need to do away with the NET, and look at each student as a whole. I have a 3.8 GPA and scored a 82 composite on the NET.

Everyone keep your heads up. If you don't get in, don't let that stop you from reaching your dream! For those of you that get in..work hard and good luck! :yeah:
