CCAC Spring 2010

Just curious if any who have applied have heard if they've been accepted to CCAC Nursing program for Spring 2010 admittance?

Also, does anyone out there know what the likelihood is of getting your fist choice?

Allegheny evening for 101 is a Monday night class, a Tuesday night class, and a clinical on Wednesdays 3-11 OR Saturdays 7-3.

Good luck!

Does anyone know if the nursing classes at Allegheny continue into the summer or is it strictly fall/spring?

NRN 102 in the summer is for Boyce Fast Track only.

all other programs are strictly fall/spring

I did ask the question IF someone was in a regular 101 could they take 102 during the summer. I was told NO, but... I was also told one could "attempt" to transfer in to take 102 over the summer. The "attempt" answer came from a nursing advisor at North. YMMV depending on who you chat with.

Thanks for the info!

Am I the only one that missed the Boyce orientation on Tuesday? Great way to start the program eh? I completely forgot about it until about midnight last night. Now i don't know what to do. Any info would be great.

log into blackboard, everything is there.

You can get your clinical schedule, calendar, syllabus and so forth.

If you care, you can look over the ppt's from orientation, you really did not miss that much to be 100% honest that is NOT on the ppt's.

Key points... a couple of statements you have to sign and bring with on Tuesday (acknowledgment of handbook, HIPPA). What you have to read/be familiar with for skills/assessment lab, and lastly, clinical is not on site the first week, it will be on campus.

yes, they want you to buy all the @#$#%** books, don't be more than 5 minutes late to any test/class/lab/clinical

if you have any other questions, just ask.

Don't sweat it, it happens to the best of us.

I was there. They covered a ton of information; we were there until about 8:30. All the materials from orientation are posted on the Blackboard website so all you have to do is login there and you'll be able to see what you missed. For Tuesday's lecture class, make sure you sign the disclosure statement saying that you received the student handbook as well as the statement saying that you viewed the HIPAA powerpoint that is posted on Blackboard. You'll be asked to turn those in that day to Mrs. Slagle.

There's a lot of information to sort through, so if you have any questions, let me know!

You guys are the best! Thank you so much for the info. Did they say anything about us folks (if there was anyone besides me) that missed?

not really, I know a few people walked out before it was over. The weekly letter on blackboard addresses those who missed the orientation.

The only other item is the workshop on 2/26 (friday), that is a mandatory and they will write a letter for you of you have work that night. The workshop is addressed on the ppt, but the fact they will go all out to back you so you can attend is not.

I am sure there are a couple of minor points that I am glossing over, but between now and then, I am sure you will hear about it. As serenity8675 said, there was a lot of information, but for next week, I think we got the things you need.
