CAPSTONE PROJECT

Hello,

I will be taking my Capstone course next month to complete my BSN program and have HUGE anxiety as to what to expect. It is my understanding that there is a project due but I am unsure of a topic. I am a telephonic nurse case manager that works for an insurance company from home. Any topic suggestions out there?

HUGE THANKS in advance!!!!!!!!

My area was in leadership. I worked with the RM/QM department helping determine why the hospital was failing in the surgical realm of catheter removal. Turns out that the hospital was aiming their attention to the nursing staff rather than the physician orders coming from their offices for these patients. We created a small presentation and made several calls to the surgeons offices with lunch to go over the requirements of catheter removal within 24 hours and left updated post-op orders. We also made sure that all the old post-op orders were removed from the surgical areas.

I have to one too, but I have no idea. I cannot use anything work related. Ours is a teaching in the community. I have no idea.

ooooh! oooh! I have one & it's right up your alley.

Health Care literacy is a HUGE issue. How well do people understand the information that we provide them? There is a ton of information on this issue. The project would not only fulfill your course requirement, but also be very beneficial to your organization... so maybe you could negotiate additional support or 'work time' to devote to it.

Best of luck to you.
