Any tips on relieving the pain from canker sores? I see this a good bit and I know how painful they can be. Certainly not something to send a child home for, but I would like to be able to offer a little relief.
Thanks for your help.

Salt water swishes seem to help. Other than that, not much can be done at school.

If you put salt directly on the canker sore, it will hurt like hell for a short time. But, It will be gone in a couple days.

Peel a raisin and put it right on the sore. It sounds crazy but Ive found it to work - I used to have canker sores all the time d/t my braces.

I use anbesol (put it on a q-tip and rub it on). I just make sure to tell them that it's yucky before I do it, and for them to not touch their tongue to it and make sure to have a garbage can close in case they need to spit.
