Can nurses write page numbers for narcs on prescription labels

Can nurses med techs etc write page numbers on actual prescription labels. A med tech told me today yes you can. I work in LTC and I was always told not to do this. Can anyone clarify the law?

You can not write on the label itself. On the card, I don't know if there is a law, but would think it might be frowned upon, may be used as a method of diversion.

Morte,Thank you! I knew I was not crazy:) In my LTC the med techs are so bossy. They make me question myself and forget what I learned in nursing school.-Mandi

I also would not do it for practical reasons, the page numbers might change.
