Can Anyone help me on to start the step to get eligibility to take NCLEX

Published

Hi nurses,

im from Philippines and would like to know the Step by Step procedure on how to apply Eligibility to take NCLEX examination. Which State is the best to apply on where the procedure is not that hard, no CGFNS to take exam, which state does not need an SSN and unlimited take? please share it with me. it would be a big help for a beginner like me.

Thank you in advance.

and one more thing, can you share with me what are the best books to study?

Suggest a read in this forum as most states have similar requirements and only a small handful require the CGFNS exam but most require CES report which is a breakdown on your transcripts

Thank you @silverdragon102, can you please share which specific topic here in forum do i need to go?newbie in this site..thank you again.

planning to take NCLEX and go for the eligibility procedure, though im not yet sure which state to apply. im looking for a state thats easy and fast when it comes to eligibility..and dont require CGFNX exam and SSN#. Thank you

Rather than looking for an "easy" state, I suggest you consider where you want to live and practice in the US. Many of the states require that IENs applying for licensure by endorsement from another state still meet the same requirements they would have had to meet if they were applying initially for licensure by examination, so getting licensed first in another state doesn't really make things any easier, it just costs you the time and money spent on getting the license in the other state.

At first I tried to apply to California but they require SSN for all applicants.

So I change my target(?) and I'm preparing for New York because they don't ask SSN, and English scores(such as TOEFL).

NY asks applicant to be verified by CGFNS. However, you should be noticed that there're several verification services by CGFNS. The very service that NY asks is "CVS". CVS is much more simple than other services. As you(also me) wish, CVS doesn't require any exam or TOEFLE or SSN.

I hope this would be helpful for you.

Even if you pass the NCLEX-RN without the SS#, under what form of legal working rights will you present to any potential US employer (even to a McDonald's) without a valid work-authorized SS# or working visa, you'll not be able to get a paycheck (much less start to work one day) until that's established.

to all, thank you for sharing your thoughts with me. it really help me.

what about new mexico?

Like what most said, in order to work in the Unites States you need a SSN. That is a Federal law. Hospital can't even run a background check if you don't have a social sec number. Find a way to legally immigrate and start your nursing journey. Anyways, best of luck to you.
