Oct 10, 201114 yr Most facilities require charting to be done in black or blue ink due to photocopying done by medical records. I recommend discussing with your charge nurse what is the preference at your facility.
Oct 10, 201114 yr I agree paper charting is typically done with a black or blue ink pen. Is there a reason you are asking such a relatively minor question? If I was in doubt I would just look and see what the previous nurse charted using.
Oct 10, 201114 yr What colours should I use to plot down vital sign`s curves on patient`s chart. Is this a joke?
Oct 11, 201114 yr Agreed it should be blue or black, due to photocopying. Also, I don't think any question is too stupid to ask. After all isn't that one of the purposes of sites like these. To the OP: Don't take these other comments to offense. I had to learn this the hard way!!!
Oct 12, 201114 yr Come on guysI am young. I need help. it is not a jokeThe first 2 times you posted this question, you were given answers. This is your 3rd time to ask. That is why I considered that it might be a joke (and thanks for the judgmental post, plasticsrn:uhoh3:). Your question has been thoroughly answered.https://allnurses.com/australian-nz-nurses/welcome-forum-general-122139-page37.html#post5728315https://allnurses.com/general-nursing-discussion/charting-vital-signs-626881.html#post5724257plus this thread, of course.
Oct 13, 201114 yr Expert Come on guysI am young. I need help. it is not a jokeYOu posted this in several places. What is your facilities policy? What are the other nurses using?so Black copies best as has been answered to you. We don't mean to be cynical at time but from our point of view. The time it took you to post in several sections you could have asked a co-worker. I am curious on what your policy is for documentation and what you co-workers think....:redpinkhe
