2013 Camp

Well I just signed my 2013 contract. I just can't seem to stop this camp thing. Is anyone else signed or working towards their summer job?

I'm stalking the Girl Scout Council's employment page, waiting for the seasonal application to show up. It says 'coming in January' but I keep looking anyway!

Yup -- just hired for my FIRST camp job! The position has been offered but we have yet to finalize details. The camp Director is pushing for an "even trade" for my 3 children's tuition for two weeks but I feel I should be requesting $$ too as I'm soley responsible for 150-200 camper 24/6, 7th day off.

Any insight on your own experience or what I should expect?

where did u get hired at?]

I got an offer, but does 2 days off (in a row) for the entire 4 weeks sound right to you? The pay is a lot lower than I was hoping. I've emailed asking if this was the best offer they had for me. Meanwhile other applications are out there in various stages of progress.

I looked on Craigslist and did a search on google for camps and looked @ their websites and sent info. It's actually easy to find opportunities... Hit the Internet!! :)

I've never trained tuition for work so I can't help there. However I agree check the Internet. DO NOT go through an agency. They take your money for no reason.

Hey Al, I just completed my application to your camp! I had started it several weeks ago, but, you know, you can't rush these things! ;D

Well I hope I goes well! Thu are starting to staff now, but it won't start in earnest until the head nurse gets back from her winter spot in PR.

I will be going back to Camp Quinipet in Shelter Island, NY to work for one week. I have 2 weeks vacation from my regular job and my kids have been talking about going back to camp non stop since last summer, so we'll be spending a week at camp! I'm really looking forward to going back.

I am working at a Boy Scout camp this summer. I use to work there when I was younger. I had a goal to work at least one summer. I got a job as the first ever full time cub scout camp nurse so I get to setup my building and everything from scratch. Both nervous and excited since I have to meet my state and the Boy Scouts of America's policies.
