Call out

Hi everyone, call out in holiday can cause you trouble?

Featured Replies

There are usually strong policies around holidays. Typically most days are blackouts for being off. Some facilities have strong penalties so find out prior to doing so.

Where I work you call out on the major holidays you are not allowed to use PTO and don't get paid.

Already a young nurse where I work who has never worked Christmas in the three years she's worked there has said she's calling off since they had the nerve to schedule her since it was her turn to work Christmas Day. I understand how important holidays are to people but surely you all understand that hospitals are a 24 hour operation and you must work holidays.  When you call off there is no one that is going to come in and you're screwing your coworkers.   I'm working Christmas Day and already not looking forward to working short staffed.

I know this is an older post, but being just after the holidays and all. . . I just have never understood the need of some folks to not only screw over their coworkers like this, but also blatantly announce their crime for all to hear ahead of time, too. It just makes no sense to me.
