You need to focus on the NCLEX because none of that other stuff will help you without your RN. Focus on getting that squared away. Believe it or not things have a way of working out. The thing that's important is to have your RN. So take one thing at a time.
Good luck to you

You are in the Philippines, correct? So you have your RN already from the NLE. Well, I think if you are not ready for the NCLEX then just postpone it. I think you need to focus on getting that job first and foremost at that primary hospital who is going to absorb you as staff. It's hard to get a regular job there and believe me, with the retrogression, you will have plenty of time to prepare for the NCLEX.
thanks guys for your suggestions!! GOD Bless us.=)

Not sure how you think that you are going to get hired with only a three week training period, have seen only 6 months before people are getting paid positions.
You need to look at what you agreed to with them and what they stated, doubt that one is just absorbed after several weeks, have never seen this happen before.
Same thing with two months at a tertiary area facility there, just is not going to happen.

I acknowledge your "know-how" in the many fields in nursing but one thing I disagree is you making definite-sounding comments like you knew how we do things in our own place. There are still hospitals here in the Philippines that will hire nurses "with pay" directly. I am one of those RNs just recently empolyed with pay in a tertiary hospital.
I am very aware of what is going on in your country, there are very few hospitals that are hiring and if they are, they require that one has completed their training period first for usually six months.
Were you hired after you completed the training period, or without it as a new grad?
The number of new grads far exceeds the number of jobs there exponentially. If you were able to get a job directly and without the training program, then great for you, but that is definitely not the norm. That is for sure.

It does'nt mean that those who asked for your help and advice in this forum speaks entirely for the Philippine RN's as a whole that made you think you are certain of what your writing about. Or probably you're hearing news only from Manila.I am from Mindanao and in our City in particular,we have private hospitals that continously hire newly licensed nurses as staff nurse. It depends, on your application and the results of your interview and exam. In my case 15 of us applicants were hired as Staff Nurses with pay while only 4 were required to volunteer for one month. All 19 of us at present are now working as staff nurse with pay.

kempo, you must be really lucky...But I am also from Mindanao and I see the whole nursing situation as how Suzanne sees it.. I and the rest of my batchmates are having a hard time looking for paid jobs...I know there are still lucky cases such as yours but that doesn't happen for most of us here...
Kempo, you must be really lucky..But you see,I have to disagree with you..It's true, there are still lucky cases such as yours but it doesn't work for most of us..I am also from mindanao and believe me,I am having a hard time looking for a paid job.. I can't even apply right away even for a volunteer/trainee...and I am not only speaking for myself here..I know most of my batchmates are also having a tough time..So your case is really lucky and rare..just doesnt work for the majority of us here in philippines or mindanao,to be exact...
