OK I love nursing and I love my job but you like any job it can get pretty stressful and difficult at times. The floors seems to get heavier and they expect you to take on more patients with less help. I'm 2 years in and really don't know how my back and feet will be able to carry me. Bascially I want to go back to school for my masters and I definitely know that bedside nursing is not for me for 5+ years.
I am still indecisive about which route to take or maybe there are other options. There's Nurse Practioner, Nurse Educator, Nurse Administrator and Clinical Specialist. I want to understand there roles a little better, maybe if you know characteristic traits or how to determine what someone would be happy with. If your going back to school for your masters (why and what made you choose your area?) HELPPPP!!!! Thank you in advance.

I am planning on going back for my MSN specializing in Nurse Education. I would like to teach nursing in years to come and be a Nurse Educator of a facility unit. I precept, charge, and resource nurse. I also work in a Central Resource Pool at work in which I am able to float to different units in the most need of staffing. I love it. I think this is the best move I have ever made in a long time. Good luck to you in your decisions.
You may visit school websites to read a good statement/explanation on each degree of MSN. What exactly you want to do? You may call the college or university to speak to an enrollment advisor. By doing this you would be able to ask other questions you may need to be answered.

There are good boards here on the various nursing specialties. Look under the "specialty" tab. There you will find folders on NP, CNS, Education, Critical Care, etc.
