Brookhaven Fall 2019

Anyone applying for Fall 2019? I know it seems far away, but the application is due the end of Feb. It is best we begin to prepare now, especially those who need immunizations.

I need:

Critical thinking exam.

Retake Hesi for a higher competitive score.

Dosage calculations workshop.

I'm taking Chem 1405 and Phil 2306 this fall and Pharma in winter.

Those of you applying to Texas Tech - El Paso, do you already have your Texas core curriculum completed? (all the general courses you have to take for a Bachelors at Universities) like history, government, creative arts, etc etc? or are you trying to take that load on during your time in the nursing program (18 hours average per semester) ?

I've taken and retaken classes its ridiculous! lol I know I have every bit of 80 hours. Majority of it just repeats but I looking at my unofficial transcript most of my core is complete except for the language component (for some colleges) and my ma but I'll work with that last.

So are you applying for Spring 2020 or Fall 2020? I will be applying for Spring 2020.

I'm turning in an application in Spring 2020 for Fall 2020 admission. I cannot apply for spring admissions, I'm only limited to Fall.

I'll be taking if I get in, Professional practice (CENP 1) this summer and Issues and Trends in Nursing (CENP 2) in the fall along with my HESI (2nd time ) and calc course... but I am going to take a hesi first attempt this summer

I thought that application was due March 1st? That's what a recruiter told me. (but then again when I checked my application, it showed there was another application period)

For Summer 2019, the deadline was March 1st but for Fall 2019, it's July 1 and for Spring 2020 it would be October 1, respectively. What I meant by "went through" is my application is done processing (transcripts, app fee). I turned mines in on 2/21. So I'm waiting for the acceptance letter and then I guess whatever happens after that.

I was told to apply to Summer 19.. so I can start taking my CENP classes this summer... (and take the other class next Fall) submit the classes with my application in February.

Yes! If you applied before March 1st, you're good for summer. If not, you have to start for Fall. I'm gonna try and take both (HELP ME JESUS! lol) in the summer so I can apply for September.

I'm still confused... you are trying to get into the Spring 2020 cohort (meaning you plan on turning in Brookhaven application in Fall/Sept 2019) ....

If you're trying to get into Spring 2020 cohort you need to apply for Summer 2019 at Texas Tech.... once you're admitted for Summer 2019 you're allowed to take CENP classes at Texas Tech for the summer... once you finish those two courses you can turn in your transcript (this is the key for advantage) from Tech with your nursing application in September to get advantage in ranking/acceptance....
That is ONE way to get into the pipeline program.....

The other way is:
Get accepted into Brookhaven Nursing program FIRST and be a CURRENT Nursing ADN student (no advantage over other applicants) .. apply to Texas Tech and then get admitted and then take CENP classes DURING your courses/clinicals in the ADN program....

If you make it into the Brookhaven program on your own without completed CENP classes that's GREAT!

But if you start Texas Tech Fall 2019... You won't be taking CENP classes until Fall 2019... . your CENP courses won't be complete in time for September application process.... and if you don't make it into the program in September for Spring Cohort.. you'd be in the application pool with Me for the following year (submitting your CENP transcript with nursing application in February 2020). Summer 2019 application means you want to be a Summer Student taking classes..

Edit: I was actually confused on the Dates to apply cause they offer so many Spring/summerr/18/19/20 on the application but when I called the ADN advisor person in February , he said Summer 19 was the correct to apply for.

That’s the plan Tharesa. I applied on 2/21 for the March deadline to take the classes in the summer. My deadline for Brookhaven would be in September so in order for me to put cenp classes on there, I had to apply by March 1 for Texas Tech. However, you don’t have to take both classes at the same time. You can take one then take the other after you finish the first class. Depending on if I can come up with the $2,000 they need for me to pay for the classes by then will determine if I can take both or only one at a time. I don’t qualify for the JP grant because of my grades.
