Brookhaven Fall 2012

Anyone here applying to Brookhaven's nursing program next month for their Fall 2012 admission?

I am..I need to take the HESI one more time in hopes of getting a higher score. The only support class that I do not have complete is End of Life so I hope with a higher HESI score and a good interview score I will have enough points to get in!

Congrats on the job too!! I can't remember if you mentioned or not but do you have your CNA? I am looking into PCT jobs but because I don't have my CNA it is a bit hard!

yeah, I got my CNA this past January. I went to CTK in Irving, you could pass it in your sleep. It's only a month long program and about 700 bucks, but it opens you up to a lot more jobs.

Yeah I actually did Medical Assistant school in Arizona a few years ago. I finished the course but when it came time for my externship I had to have surgery. After recovering for 2 months I went back for my externship and they told me that I took too much time off, even though they knew how long I had to recover and such before the surgery and seemed fine with it. So I was never certified :(

I don't see the point in taking CNA course now...after the first semester of nursing school you can apply for CNA jobs. I was planning on taking the CNA course this summer if I didn't get in though.

I know this is early but I did make a Facebook group for all of us starting the nursing program in the Fall. Look up "BHC nursing program - Fall 2012 admission" if you are interested in joining. I thought it would be a great place for us to share info, create study groups, get to know each other, etc. :)

It is a closed group so you have to ask to join. That way no one who isn't in the group can see what we write in there and such.

yeah I wouldn't worry, I only got it because I have been unemployed for a pretty long time, and I am slowly learning to think of these things ahead of time. That's lame though, that they didn't give you any recourse for getting back into medical assisting. Unfortunately I also did a medical assisting thing back in the day, but it was one of those sham schools that left me with a hefty Sallie Mae loan. Still boils my blood thinking about it.

I requested :D. I know I have pokemon for my pic, but I like to cover my tracks when it comes to employers.

I made the group yesterday too....I think it was pushing my luck a little lol

I would probably cried having to delete it if I didn't get in!

I see lots of people reading this thread...anyone else get accepted? :)

My husband didn't get in. Poor guy, he sounds so defeated! Anyone have any advice on what he can do in the mean time?

Oh no :( I'm so sorry Stephanie!!! :( I would suggest to keep working at his pre-reqs for his BSN and don't be afraid to apply again to Brookhaven in the Fall! The best thing to do to get a higher score is to retake the HESI.

I'm sorry Stephanie! Has he completed all the support classes as well? And I agree with Briterz take hesi again?
