Bridging Program in Australia

Hi. I am new here. I don't know exactly where to go. I am a registered nurse here in the Philippines and I am interested in studying in Australia for a bridging course that will help me become a registered nurse there. I need some help on looking for a good school that offers a bridging course.

My aunt told me that a friend of her friend just went to AU to take up a test and in 6 months she's there for a bridging program. and I have this friend who has a friend who became a registered nurse in AU in 6 months time too. This agency is offering me to study for a certificate III aged care with occupational English test for 46 weeks in Einstein College but it costs too much. So now, I am trying to look for a school wherein I can apply by myself and hopefully get in. I am hoping I could leave for AU this June 2011. I am a bit lost on what to do. Can you help me, please? Any suggestions? ? Please help me. Thank you very much. :clown:

(Sydney area would be better since my parents are more familiar and in favor of that place... though other cities/areas will be great too)

for those who are for the December intake of AAON, is the confirmation letter same as certicate of enrolment? is this the one we need to attach when we do online application of the visa?

You may submit that when you apply for the visa. If your school do not issue confirmation of enrollment, then you can use the letter of offer instead. Both are accepted.

Hi, I'm new here. I've taken my IELTS last April in the interest of applying for a nursing job in Australia. I've also been working as a full time nurse for over 2 years. I have several questions regarding bridging programs and requirements.

1. I've read recently that AHPRA now requires that applicants have proof of Continuing Professional Development. They require 20hours of training/ seminars. Is it true? Are they reinforcing it strictly?

2. Are there other agencies, other than Philman, who grants financial assistance for the bridging course's fee?

Please enlighten me regarding this matter. Thank you. :)

Hi everyone! I am currently in singapore and I intend to settle my papers when i go back in the Philippines for vacation next month so the moment i pass my ielts, no matter how many sitting it will take so long i have the 7, i can file for my eligibility anytime. First, any idea at to which place shall I lodge my application? Where the reply for eligibility is quick? (With all the pre requisites complete.) I plan to submit in WA but any other areas will be fine. Same goes where i will have the course- wherever. Anyone who can help me with the pattern, better if it's the sample of the COE? I need to get 2, 1 from my employer in Ph and another 1 here in Sg. did you have NBI or a POLice clearance will do? Business visa usually is for bridging course, if i come with my partner as my de facto, can e do part time work? Cannot find any results as i searched all over the web already. Thanks. Gerly061007 at yahoo dot com is my email. You may send me direct message.

go for dec! i think there's still time! i dont have the eCoe so i cant apply for a visa yet. let's wait and hope together :)

re: ielts -- i actually emailed ahpra about my expiring ielts and they told me that i dont need it for registration as i was assessed already (caveat: dont take my word for this, get a personal written confirmation from them just to be sure). i forwarded ahpra's email to aaon and maybe that's one of the reason they offered me a slot. nevertheless, i resat the ielts last week and im still waiting for the result.

i messaged ahpra right away when you told me about expiring ielts. thanks to you i got that idea. and, i had the same reply as well! i have informed my agent about it and asked them to tell the school about it. now, im waiting for the school to send me the offer and i'll be ready to lodge my papers to immigration anytime this week. if the offer comes this week. hope to see you there :)

Anyone who was offered to be an enrolled nurse instead of RN?

Saw it here before but can't remember who was offered. She just supplied the necessary docs to be considered for RN..
