Bridging Program in Australia

Hi. I am new here. I don't know exactly where to go. I am a registered nurse here in the Philippines and I am interested in studying in Australia for a bridging course that will help me become a registered nurse there. I need some help on looking for a good school that offers a bridging course.

My aunt told me that a friend of her friend just went to AU to take up a test and in 6 months she's there for a bridging program. and I have this friend who has a friend who became a registered nurse in AU in 6 months time too. This agency is offering me to study for a certificate III aged care with occupational English test for 46 weeks in Einstein College but it costs too much. So now, I am trying to look for a school wherein I can apply by myself and hopefully get in. I am hoping I could leave for AU this June 2011. I am a bit lost on what to do. Can you help me, please? Any suggestions? ? Please help me. Thank you very much. :clown:

(Sydney area would be better since my parents are more familiar and in favor of that place... though other cities/areas will be great too)

Is there a high chance to get a nursing job in australia after the bridging? Anyone knows what region or place in australia still has a high demnd for nurses? Thanks.. I am scared to waste my hard earned money..

That's very sad. :no:you're almost there already!

When will your LOE expires?

june next year.. do you have an offer at aaon already?

go for dec! i think there's still time! i dont have the eCoe so i cant apply for a visa yet. let's wait and hope together :)

re: ielts -- i actually emailed ahpra about my expiring ielts and they told me that i dont need it for registration as i was assessed already (caveat: dont take my word for this, get a personal written confirmation from them just to be sure). i forwarded ahpra's email to aaon and maybe that's one of the reason they offered me a slot. nevertheless, i resat the ielts last week and im still waiting for the result.

yehey! that sounds great! i will let you know asap if i get the same approval from ahpra. but i will still take the exam this nov 24 :) so if that's the case, we will then be classmates :)

Hi bigbrowneyes.

I did not enroll in AAoN but instead i enrolled at University of Ballarat and im ok with them already. The enrollment procedures are simple and they're very approachable too. The intakes for January 2013 is already full, so they put me on the next batch which is on June 2013; quite long months to wait but im Ok with it, as long as in the long run i will be pursuing my IRON program before my LOE expires.:)

By the way, hope you could settle your problem with your ielts. God Bless..:)

Ah.. Good on you! Have fun! :)

Hi there! How's the application at Mercy like? Their tuition fees are considerably high hey.. That's why i was hesitant to apply..

You are better off doing AAON December intake indeed if your LOE will expire first quarter.

God bless you with the rest of your endeavours! :)

Heyy.. I've been here in Australia for three years.. and YESSSS.. There is a high demand for nurses. Always has been :)

Yes please,, advise where all these jobs for nurses are, so that the new grads or ones from last year can get work and also returning nurses that want work can also gain employment in this country.

Look at the advertising, must have work rights!!...... must have at least 2 years experience........must have post grad in this area........then look at the specialty, they are asking for experience. They are, most of the time, for part time as well....which you cannot get sponsorship visa.

Please do not make statements there is a high demand for nurses when there is not. Nurses with a specialty- ED, theatre, icu sometimes renal, and 2-3 years recent experience are always being advertised, but then sometimes they want work visa as well.

This is what is often written - from an ad, that said they were desperate for aged care RN's in northern Sydney al beit for casual,

""To be eligible to apply for this position you must have an appropriate Australian or New Zealand work visa.""
