Hello, I've been an OR nurse for three years now and recently started a new job. Needless to say I can't stand it. The staff are rude and unfriendly and after being there for only two months I am staffing a room by myself. I was told I would be on orientation for six months. My biggest complaint is that at this facility we interview the patient in the operating room and anesthesia has no consideration for turn overs and they bring the patient back to the room whenever they feel like it. I have voiced my concerns to management about only being there for two months and not really knowing policy and where supplies are at and it seems to go in one ear and out the other. To add to this I was relieved 45 mins late today because the charge nurse forgot to sign someone to relieve my scrub and I. Does anyone have any good suggestions for coping with this situation? On a side note I loved my previous OR job but had to leave it behind while my husband goes to grad school.
