Passed nursing school...YEAAAHHHH!!! Passed the NCLEX...YEAAAAAHHH!!! Now what? All the excitement is over and I'm still sitting here bored and jobless. I spend at least 2 hours each day looking for a job. And the funny (more like annoying) thing about it is that I work for a hospital already! I've cleaned the house and caught up on things but now what? What are you guys doing to pass the time until you get a job? I don't like being bored. Maybe I'll pick up a second job at a fast food restaurant or something. ANYTHING to keep me occupied.

I'm stay at home mom to my 2 year old. I desperately want a job, but she keeps me very busy while I am looking.

Yea, i tried to get a part time job ...but after a few applications, i didn't even get a call to come in an interview! I'm assuming I'm "over qualified" with 2 degrees and all. I've been out of school since December so needless to say, I've been sitting around for quite some time now.
I have a 4.5 year old and a 17 month old and they keep me busy but I'm still bored. Hmm...
Me too. 2 bachelor's degrees, graduated Dec of 09. Overqualified for everything but nursing, underqualified for that.
Me too. I love my daughter to DEATH, but I never, NEVER, ever wanted to be a stay at home mom. I'm busy.....but I feel like my brain is turning to mush. I'm going to scratch out my eyes if I don't find an adult to talk about something OTHER than kid things with soon.

I signed a contract with a local hospital. They paid 3 years of tuition, and now I'm obligated to work full-time for them for 4 years. Unfortunately, they're on a hiring freeze, and won't be offering jobs until the end of July/beginning of August at the soonest. I passed the NCLEX a month ago, and have been sitting on my duff ever since, and can't even apply elsewhere because I'm under contract! On the other hand, though, I wouldn't have been able to afford nursing school otherwise, so 2 months of abject boredom in exchange for a "free" BSN is still a pretty good deal.

Hmmm... I look at a bajillion job listings for things I am not qualified for, take care of my 15 month old, clean the house and work a job I am over-qualified for (Nurse Intern). I have been reading A LOT since I finished the NCLEX. I start grad school in August, so at least I won't be bored then.
