Book you can't live without.

Just curious, what non-textbook have you relied on most during NS? I don't want to jump the gun and buy anything I don't need, but want to start window shopping.

Sorry if this is a repeat post. Thanks guys.

I agree. Saunder's is the best! I will definitely be using mine during Med-Surg 1 & 2 this upcoming semester!!

For NCLEX prep: NSNA review book and the LaCharity Prioritization, Delegation, and Assignment book. And I used ATI and found those books to be concise enough to help reinforce lecture materials

The one and only book I could not live without out was my Davis's Drug Guide.

Thanks all! I will keep these in mind when shopping for materials!

Your med-surg book will be your major resource through school. I also liked (and still pick up at times) Bates's physical assessment text.

Some people like the drug guide books, personally I much prefer mobile guides. I have Lexi-Comp on my iPhone that I use daily.

Your preferred reference device will depend on your program's rules. Keep in mind that not all clinical instructors or programs allow students to use mobile devices for reference in class, clinicals, or other school related settings.

Davis Drug Guide, Most Definitely! I also still refer back to my A&P notes a lot - especially in my pathophysiology classes!! A&P will never leave you ... even when you start working as a nurse. Several of my nursing professors told me they still refer back to their nursing school A&P notes - even the ones who've been working for 10 years.

ALSO, everyone in our school utilizes an app called NURSING CENTRAL. Everything about everything is on Nursing Central - Drugs (and Davis Drug Guide), Diseases and their processes, NCLEX questions, etc. - pretty much everything Nursing! The professors say they use this in their jobs as nurses. We were also encouraged to use it to study for exams. I think it might be expensive, but our school got it for us all for free.

My Sauders comprehensive review book no doubt.

It is my main/primary study source for every one of my test. Plus its preparing me for the NCLEX which I'll be taking in 4 months. LOVE, LOVE, LOVE this book. I payed $50.00 for it and if I some how lost it, I would buy another one in a second. Its the best $50.00 I have ever spent since I've been in nursing school.

I love the Fundamentals Success and Med-Surg Success books. I love doing practice questions because it helps me identify what I need on the actual exam.
