Hey Im a nursing student as well at BMCC. But unlike most of you girls I think I might change my major. All Im hearing is that you MUST have a 3.77 GPA and I dont have that. So far I have a 3.15. I have professor Lang and he is driving me crazy. He just gave us an exam and I fail. Most of his questions where all in different terms and practically the whole class screwed up.
I would like to hear what you girls have to say. Did you ever have any doubts like me? Maybe Im just going through a phase, I dont know. All I know is that I am getting nervous and ppl tell me that there is a "waiting list". Whats up with that? I pay my tuition just to be put on a list? Thanks for ur advice in advance.
We cant get discouraged especially since we dont know what the cut-off GPA will be for the semester that we apply to. Every semester varies with GPA averages, Last semester was 3.77, the semester before that i believe it was 3.6 and the semester before was 3.3 ...now i may not be 100% sure with the GPA cut-off for the prior semesters but i am sure that they were much lower than they are now. This is my first semester at BMCC and I don't have a GPA average yet so I'll see how I do. If I go below a 3.0 average on the pre-reqs then I would probably have no choice than to transfer out of BMCC or change majors, but I must say I am feeling the same anxiety you are feeling. I would hate to go through all these sleepness nights for nothing:crying2:
From what I know, if you maintain a 2.5 gpa on the pre-requisites, you could still be considered for the nursing program.
I dont like all this anxiety at all. Its frustrating and its making me all upset. There will be a meeting with Jose Serria on this wednesday I believe. He wants all pre/and clinical nurses to attend if you have the time. I will be there. I want to know if Im wasting my time or not.
For those of you who are getting stressed out,
I may be wrong, but you can apply to other schools as well, right? Not just BMCC? I don't plan on putting all of my eggs in one basket...I think there's a program @ Beth Israel hopsital also @ the college of Mount Saint Vincent... o course those programs cost an arm and a leg though....
