I have no medical knowledge, but I'm hoping that one or more of you can help me with this question.
Once a year I ask my primary doctor at Kaiser for a blood test to check my overall health. The blood technician draws one tube (vial) of blood and I get the results the next day. Can anyone help me identify from the list below which tests can be performed from the same one tube (vial) of blood? I want to know so that I can ask my doctor to include all possible tests from the same vial of blood (maximize test). Thanks you all for responding.
Fasting glucose
Fasting lipid panel
LDL (Low Density Lipoprotein)
AST (Aspartate Aminotransferase)
ALT (Alanine Aminotransferase)
T4 (Free Thyyroxine)
TSH (Thyroid Stimulating Hormone)

Amylase
Creatinine and Calculated Glomerular Filtration Rate
Creatine Kinase
Calcium serum
Electrolytes serum
Iron and Tibc (Total Iron Binding Capacity)

Why not discuss this with your doctor, who knows your specific medical history and, you know, went to school for this sort of thing? You're not placing an order at McDonald's, you're consulting with a highly educated professional who could give you insight into the meaning and usefulness of these tests.

Your request is unrealistic. It's impossible to do serum and whole blood tests from a single tube. You need to discuss with your provider who will likely consult with the lab. I can guarantee your request absolutely positively cannot be completed with a single tube of blood

Do you have a mistrust of your MD? I only ask because in a traditional Doctor/patient relationship, the MD is the one ordering the tests based upon your physical exam, history and current state of health. Why do you feel a need to order more tests than your doctor orders?
Furthermore, you as a patient should be very, very careful in what you ask for. Labs are paid for by insurance companies when they are valid diagnostic tools. Running a myriad of labs just because a patient requests them likely would not be covered. You could run up quite the lab bill.
Thanks for your reply. I just want to know how many tests from the list can be performed from one test tube. For example, Lipid Panel and LDL can be done from the same tube. What else from the list can be added to this or is this the only two?

As this falls into the realm of medical advice which is against our Terms of Service, you will need to discuss this with your healthcare provider.
