Hi Guys. I am starting the second year of the BSN program here in September. I am a mature student so had most of the pre req's from my previous university years. Sadly though, since it's been more than ten years, I have to do A and P again as well as intro micro(even tho I was a micro major lol). My question is this: my school is a windows os environment and I have purchased a Mac Pro retina 15.4 inch laptop. I love it but will I wish I had a PC? I have windows for Mac on boot camp, but I much prefer using the Mac side. What do you all think? I am not exceptionally computer savvy!

If you have windows for bootcamp, you should be fine if you need a PC to use any of the school's nursing resources. You should run into no problems because you have the operating system they use. I have a MacBook and my school is primarily Windows.

Good day:
Check with your school to see if they have any recommendations.
Check with those a year or several in advance of you to see what they are using and why.
Thank you.

MAC! I've had my MacBook for six years, going strong and I use it everyday. It's the best!

I only have a Mac and school is only Windows. I haven't had any problems. Remember to save files as an RTF so you can open it anywhere you need to. I don't even use the Boot Camp part. Power Points etc open just fine too.
Thanks for the responses! One question- what is RTF? Lol

RTF stands for "rich text file". It pretty much means that the document can be opened in most programs. So the document can be transferred back and forth between Windows and Mac systems.

No need for boot camp. Your going to need an office suite of some type. Iworks, office for mac, and open office can all deal with Microsoft documents and power point files.
Thanks!
Well that's cool! I really don't like the windows side. I have open office. I'll use that. Thanks!

Ugh I wish I could afford a Macbook
Lol. Well, being an "old girl" does have a couple of advantages :)
