Beckfield college

Does anyone know anything about Beckfield college in Florence KY? They have an RN program that I am looking into. My friend received her Paralegal degree there and liked it. The RN progam sounds really good. Appreciate any feedback. Thanks

Beckfield's RN program is ran by Tim Curliss. He was our educational director for years and excellent. It is an ADN program and we actually have their students on our floor quite often. I work nights so I really don't have too much contact with their students, but from what I've heard from dayshft, their program seems to be organized in the clinical area. They do more than what some of the other students do and take on more responsibility. Good Luck!!

That is wonderful to know. I really hope I can get into their October class. Thanks for your input!

I was wondering if anyone here goes there.. and how do you like it?

Thanks

Hello,

I have posted here before but don't see my thread anymore? I just wanted to know if anyone has applied to or gone to Beckfield College in Florence KY? They have what sounds to be a great ADN program. I have applied for the October class. I am waiting to get my interview appointment. I am so stressed over waiting. I am almost 35 and want to get started in this field so badly. I work at a hospital in Cincinnati and love it. I just pray that I can get into this program. Does anyone know anything about Beckfield? I have heard a few good things but since the RN program is newer wanted to know if anyone has actually attended classes there? Thanks!

HI there :)

Just wanted to let you know the pages are set to default show only the last 30 days of posts. If you change that setting at the bottom of the page, you can see older posts, and there yours is :).

I'm sorry that I can't help you with your original question.

I just saw your post today. I live in Erlanger (about 5 minutes from Florence). I looked into Beckfield for the RN program but am still undecided as to where to attend. I have spoke with several people who have attended in the past and they have all spoke highly of the program.

I live in Florence and am in my first quarter in the RN program at Beckfield. I also attended the school last year for the Medical office technology program. Personally, I love the school. I went to NKU for 3 years and everybody knows you are only a number there. At Beckfield they truly do care if you succeed. I won't lie the Nursing program is very very demanding. I don't even answer my phone anymore. The only reason I'm on this website is because I'm looking for others opinions on Jean Watson's "Human Caring Theory" We have a group project due. I hope everything goes well with your interview. If you're interviewed by the Director of the Nursing program he'll try to scare you with how really hard the program is and let me tell ya... Every word he say's is true.

Best of Luck!

:specs: Hello, I am 35 yrs old and a freshman at Beckfield College...So far, it has been great, very demanding program, but you know what I don't think any other nursing program would be easy. I love it...I transferred from Cincinnati State due to their ever so long "waiting list". the school centers itself around the students and I have never been to a college, where you personally meet the President of the College on a daily basis. Dr. Beck is always walking around, talking to the students and getting their thoughts and ideas...It is a great evironment! Wish you luck

;) Hi all! Thanks for your comments and the support! I know any nursing program is going to be very demanding and challenging. I am 35 as well and I am more than ready to accept that challenge. I am waiting on the call to set up my interview. I am very excited and pray that I get in. I wish you all the best of luck.

Hey can you tell me what the hours of the program are? Are they Monday thru Friday during the day or does it vary? I am trying to decide what hours to do at work and was just curious. I am trying to not work at all, but don't know if that is financially possible. If I do work it won't be more than 15 hours per week. I appreciate any tips. Thanks again!!!

Will you have any credits that transfer in??? That is something to consider when thinking about when you will be going...i had a few transfer in so this first quarter I am going for 3 days A&P I (2days) and Intro to Nursing (1 day). These classes start at 1 and out at 5...now next quarter, we have like 5 blocks to choose from...i don't have to take psych I so I have a choice of going 4 or 3 days...depeding on which block i take...like one block you go from 9a-12p for 3 days and one day 1-4...the other block has like 4 days of 1-4 or 5...so the second quarter you have a little more flexibilty in your schedule...the first quarter, they make your schedule for you. Just be prepared for the first quarter to go 3 days if you don't have to take math or 4 days if you do, from 1-5 in the afternoon. All the classes are M-F no weekend...now i don't know about clinicals...if you have to do any weekends, because i haven't gotten that far yet.

Hope this helps and GOOD LUCK!

Hello! I do have some credits that will transfer I think. I know I will need the math! Thanks for the info on the class schedule. That helps me in determining when I can work once I go looking for a part time job. I heard that they are about to start calling for interviews for the October class. I am very nervous but soo excited! I am so ready for this program. Keep your fingers and toes crossed for me. I will let you know something as soon as I do! Thanks for all your support. Take care and good luck in your classes!
