Congratulations to all of you that got in. This has been the most agonizing experience! @Lucybird, I've also been waitlisted and unfortunately, it does not guarantee acceptance for January 2013. In the cover letter we received when we were shortlisted, as well as a letter you should have received from them shortly after your status was changed to "Waitlisted", it states if you are not offered a seat for August by July 15th, you start at square one and have to reapply for January 2013. Hang in there.

Hello itsjmh, Does that mean that for whoever that are on the waitlist, we have to submit all the references and transcripts again? Thanks.

Man, does anyone know how many people are "waitlisted"?

I've been following this forum but never got around to replying. This has really helped me in learning more about the program and helping to calm me down during the long wait.

Congratulations to everyone who got in for the August 2012 intake! I started in January and am just writing my finals for level 1. If anyone has questions about level 1, let me know!

I'm just completing level 1 and it's pretty much all work work work. We've met at the BCIT pub once after a midterm exam and we have a bowling night planned for this friday after our pharmacology final. Don't expect too much partying, but you do still have SOME fun.

Hi! Another question to you guys about the immunization records. I've asked about this earlier and was told that I could just get a blood test if I don't have any records. I was wondering, for those of you that are getting the blood tests, did your doctor also test for MMR and polio? The doctor I visited today said polio was no longer done and I could ask my public health unit for the MMR records (since the form I showed him said that serology was not required for MMR). However, I have moved quite a bit when I was a child and finding the right place to contact for these records might be hard. I was wondering if you guys had to do the same or did your doctor just suggest a serology for these as well?

It would be a good idea to request an immunization record from the public health unit where you attended elementary school. I don't know if this is true for every Canadian city, but at least in Richmond, I was told that the School Board collects immunization records from their students and submit them to the local public health unit (Richmond Health Department). My record was ready for pick up less than a day after my request.

For those needing serological tests (a certainty because Hepatitis B screening is mandatory regardless whether you've previously received vaccination), don't leave the testing to the last minute. It takes about a week to process before the result is sent to your physician.

I know someone had asked earlier.. but I was also waitlisted and found out that approx 70 people were waitlisted for the august intake! hope that helps, i know its not the best number to hear
