bad stethoscope!!

i need help. i am a nursing student, and we just started clinicals (my school continues during the summer). well they gave us these kits with a blood pressure cuff, and a stethoscope, but the stethoscopes are so cheap, i can't hear anything out of them!! i would like to know what would be a good stethoscope to buy.

Littman's are good but cost. Ultra scopes I have been told are very good and not very expensive for a poor student.

our program recommended we get littmann III's, but the price tags on those were pretty hefty. i got a littmann lightweight and it's hasn't done me wrong.

I do have to use the cheapie stethescopes in isolation rooms; I use my Littman on nonisolation patients. Try to get used to using both types of stethescopes.

are you sure you have the steth positioned in your ears correctly?

I got a $70 littmann classic II on ebay for $17, looks brand new! Stalk ebay for deals

Ditto on ebay. Got a brand new Littmann Classic II and Littmann Select for under $60. Not one, but two for the price of one. Spragues are ok to use, artifact not really there unless you are moving a whole bunch (not likely with nursing). Prestige and ADC offer some really great prices.

I am a Littman girl myself. I used those cheapies and hated them.

I have a Littman Classic. Ran me about $75 brand new in a Uniform Shop.
