To all of the official and unofficial, deep-fried and extra-crispy, been-there-done-that Crusty Old Bats out there, I've got some words for you:

Thank you for all that you've done, and all that you continue to do.

Thank you for helping to make nursing one of the most trusted and respected professions around.

Thank you for advocating on behalf of fair treatment, reasonable pay, and interprofessional respect for nurses.

Thank you for being patient with us newbies, and for taking the time to help us become better nurses (even if you're just taking five minutes to answer a silly question).

Your efforts have improved the quality of care that we provide patients, and the quality of life for the next generation of nurses. The world of nursing is a better place because of you.
