Army PT Test

OK, I seem to be getting conflicting advice, so bare with me.

I'll be 37 when I attempt direct entry after graduation. Where do I find info on what are the minimums needed for each category? You guys and girls are wonderful wealths of info on here, so help me out.

Thanks in advance,

Richard

why the difference in officer vs enlisted? hmm...

For an enlisted male 37-41 the min requirements are Push-ups:34, Sit-ups: 38, and run: 18:18. That's the 60 in each event.:)

officer are expected to be in better shape, they set an example for the enlisted soldiers, so therefore they must achieve 70% while the enlisted are only required to do 60%! get use to random things like that if you do join! i love the guard but sometimes it really confuses the hell out of me!!

i am not that familiar with the guard but regular army does not have separate standards for the pt test. you need 60% regardless. now i have been in a company where a company commander will require you to get a 70% or some other % and if you do not then you have to go to remedial pt but they can not flag you or bring any action against you because you still pass the pt test by the army standards. so as far as for regular army, you need to pass with 60% in each event.

oh really! i am trying to get into OBC and my unit said that one requirement is 70% on PT so maybe it is just for gettin accepted?? dont know!

I am currently in my last week of OBLC and have never heard of this 70% requirement. It has been the standard 60% for my class.

Great for you!

hmm, well that is what my unit is STILL telling me! so i have no idea, i have done no research except my unit!!

While your in training your standards are 60% (except for airborne 70%). Different units and battalions have their own minimum standard. I was in a legs unit (not airborne) and the standard was 60 when I became airborne the airborne unit's minimum was 70%. Army standard is 60 but if your battalion commander raises it then you must follow that minimum.
