Appropriate gifting from a parent

I'm sorry if this has been posted before and for the trivial nature, my 19 month old daughter and I just spent a week in the pediatric ward to treat her RSV. Needless to say, she was not the happiest whenever her nurses came in but they were absolutely fantastic with her and took the time to learn about her interests and her overall demeanor and what works best for her. Not to mention being so helpful with me, I was alone in caring for her almost the whole time and couldn't leave the room so I was at their mercy with retrieving coffee and other things.

I would love to put together a little basket for them, I don't have a lot of money to work with but want it to be things pediatric nurses (or any nurse I suppose) need day to day. I have some ideas and would love feedback.

Travel sized beauty items from a pharmacy (lotion, chapped stick, etc)

Mini pouches that fit in scrub pockets/purses

Snacks? Mints? Candy?

Another thing I wasn't sure of, would including stickers/trinkets in which they can gift to other patients be useful/allowed? We get stickers all the time from our PCP but noticed stickers weren't handed out during our stay, not that we particularly needed them but all kids love stickers.

I really appreciate any and all feedback.

    This time of year, a nice assortment of hand lotion is appreciated. If stickers aren't given out- there's likely a policy against it so I would avoid them.

    From my experience, nurses appreciate any gift you give. Nurses just like to feel appreciated for the work and care they provide. One of our favorite gifts that I remember (other than chocolate & full dinner meals) was very simple: a cute basket full of small (kid type) scissors and pens and post its! Things that we are always in need of and always seem to lose. :)

    I would prefer someone to call my director and tell them about their good experience or filled out a daisy award nomination than give a physical gift. It means more that someone was willing to put in the time to find them, and helps us out on raises and annual reviews.
