Applying to ASN and BSN programs at the same time

I am doing this for the spring 2015 semester. It is two different schools, though; each one has a separate entrance exam, so I am taking both of those. My GPA is about a 3.6, maybe a little higher. I have been told that it is expected that I will be accepted into both, so I'll probably just weigh the financial aid packages of the two and go from there.

You should be able to send your test results to all programs that you want to apply to. My take on it is this: if you can afford all the programs, apply to all the programs you're qualified for, and if you get denied from all of them, apply again, and again until you're accepted. If you're going for BSN and you're accepted at an ADN program, should you pass that up, even if you kept applying to BSN programs and you got picked up that following year, that's still the same amount of time you'd take to go through an ADN program and then do an RN to BSN program.

It really is that simple!

I plan on it and both have the same entrance exam. I applied to a 3rd college, but it has a different entrance exam so I'm not going to fool with the 3rd.

I applied to 10 programs when I first applied. It's always smart to fast a wide net! Not a bad thing to have to turn down offers! Apply anywhere you'd consider attending, and see what happens.

I'm not overly familiar with HESI, but I would imagine it's like the TEAS, where you only have to take it once and you send the transcript everywhere you're applying.

I did. I applied to 4 programs, one of them an ASN. I am still debating whether to go with one of the BSN programs or the ASN, mainly due to cost. The extra time and energy bridging will require is a huge turn off for me since I am older, but I am having trouble rationalizing the huge debt I will have to take on for the BSN. Anyway, to answer your original question. Both BSN and ASN required the TEAS, but the ASN also required a second entrance exam (ATI critical thinking assessment), so I did have to take two tests. I have never taken the HESI, but a classmate of mine took both the TEAS and the HESI and said the HESI was the easier of the two.
