I am working on my pre-reqs but one of the local adn programs had their app deadline so I quickly applied even though my pre reqs weren't done and I knew they would take applicants who had their pre-reqs done first for the program.
I got a letter today saying that they take applicants first who have their pre reqs done (yep, already knew that) and encouraged me to take a&p 1 & 2 and microbio "prior to making a final decision on your application status."
Does that mean I still have a chance to get into the next class??? Or am I wait listed as in if I finish these classes and someone doesn't take their spot in the program I might get it?
I just finished a&p 1 (92) and sent my transcript in (they should have it anyday) and I'm currently enrolled in a&p2 and microbio this summer plus I just finished lifespan psych (A) as well.
The letter then goes onto say my app will remain on file for one year.
Thoughts????

Did you ask the school? They would be able to tell you much better than strangers on a forum can.
Yes, I asked but I'm waiting to hear back from them so thought I'd ask opinions on the matter.
No one is going to be able to answer that for you here, was my point.

My college goes by a points system. So if you have all your pre-reqs done you will get in before someone who doesn't. I will tell you we have had people who haven't had any science courses. That means you have to take nursing courses WITH A&P, I highly discourage that. But only your school would know. Give them a call.

More than likely the are saying that they are choosing the applicants that are done with the pre-reqs (top tier) first then people like you( bottom tier). If you want to get yourself into the top tier then finish your pre-reqs. If they are not going to make a decision until after the summer session they may be saying "get your pre-reqs done this summer and you will be in the top tier for choosing slots."
When you talk to them, find out when they will actually decide the slots. If it is after you complete your pre-reqs this summer, would you be considered in pre-req completed group?

My school has a three wave process (or tier as stated above). Those with all pre reqs can apply first and get their letters of acceptance first.(ME! YAY!!!) Those doing their remaining pre reqs in the first five week summer session are the second wave of applicants who have a chance of getting any available slots that are left, then the third wave of applicants are those who will finish their pre reqs in the second summer session. If you don't get in the first wave and you get a letter like yours, they are probably telling you that you have a chance to get in the second wave or third wave if you finish your pre reqs over the summer. Your nursing advisor would be able to tell you, and if she doesn't answer your email, contact the program head.
