I've heard of that happening -- that some schools require you to have A&P and/or Micro with a lab component. It might be a good thing to check if you know which school you'd like to attend for your BSN. I figure I'll probably just go to EC if/when I get my BSN. Path of least resistance and all ...

It is true Sue2006 that most schools want you to have tthe lab component. However I suggest calling a few schools ahead of time and not only one. You just don't want to put all your eggs in one basket. You wouldn't want to do the BSN through Excelsior as well?

This is definitely the way to go if you have any issues with classes being accepted by traditional programs. The EC BSN program isn't bad at all. The WebCT classes are more challenging, I think, because they are a little more structured timewise.

I have worried about having to repeat classes such as AP,if I did it with EC. My descion is to sit in a classromm for all science courses. Even a traditional nursing school will not accept science courses without a lab and the class also needs to be 4 credits. I plan on pursuing a BSN and I feel it will be time consuming, and additional money to have to take the same course all over again.I have decided not to gamble, and feel secure my 4 credit science courses taken with a lab, will be more widely accepted,by any college I care to apply to. I am sure when it is time to do the BSN,I will have a different set of worries,so I do not want any additional or unnecessary ones,I can prevent now.

If those classes are available to you it's certainly worth it for the experience alone.
I plan to attend SUNY Stonybrook virtually and they will accept non-lab sciences.
