has anyone failed a class???

I have no idea how this will affect you getting into the nursing program at your school, but I failed organic chemistry the first time I took it and graduated 5 years ago from a competitive school. If you are a freshman check to see if your school has a Freshman forgiveness program (ask your advisor) and the grade can be dropped from your records. It is what I did and it worked. Sometimes you just overestimate how much you can handle in a semester. Ask around and find out what you can do to mitigate the damage to your record.:icon_hug: Good luck.

hey guys!! im lyly and im new here, and i am attending houston baptist university. i have a big question and its bugging me cause i can't talk to anyone about it. i have failed a class already, and it is college algebra. i know i know yall probably think im stupid, but i did very well in my sciences and englishs, i just dont do good in math! but how bad is this going to affect my eligibility to getting into the nursing program??? please help me!!!!

the best thing to do is to ask the nursing school that you wish to apply at. i am sure it's not the end of the world and they can tell you exactly what to do. if you retake it get a tutor next time. no you are not stupid,algebra is not easy, i also struggled with math all my life and i got help when i took algebra. keep driving forward with your plan to become a nurse :wink2:

I am terrible in Math too. You're not alone there! Talk to your advisor. And I would recommend getting tutoring every week. You have to keep up and keep at it.

Yea it isnt the end of the world, but it just seems so "UgH" you know..But yes, I am going to try to talk and see what I can do! THanks so much for the help, you are awesome!

wow! and you are currently a nurse..Ok, maybe that will help me calm down a little bit! But i am already getting nervous about Nursing!!! My quarters go by so quick and soon ill already be applying for it, and I am just so lost and confused..All I know now is to take prereques and classes..But i am definaletly gonna make tyhis work..SOmEHoW!!!! =)..thanks aloT!!!

I have not failed a class but know nurses who did so try not to worry. I was horrible at math but didn't have to take it. I went from LPN-RN through Regents (now Excelsior). I failed algebra in high school, back in the dark ages!

YES! and i totally look up to you for not doing well in high school and now is a nurse. Because i was always told that people who do not do well in high school, would never make it in nursinG! you are sooo lucky that you didnt have to take it, its like a nkife stabbing your grades!!!thanks a loT!

All you have to do is just retake that same class. I failed A&P the first time I took it. I had to retake it (of course) and made an A. I also retook my Chemistry class because I made a B. Our school is very compatitive and we need to have as many As as we can. I made a A in chemistry the second time.

Oh yes, HBU is totally competitive thats why failing a class already has shut me down, but really??retaking it would help alot even if you still have those other failing grades there????
