I am taking two seated courses this semester (A&P1 and nutrition) and two online courses (Argumentative writing and dev. Psych). My instructor for my seated courses told us to enjoy the break (we'll all spend it studying, and happily so). My online courses, however, do not appear to be observing the break- matter of fact, we have a rough draft for a paper due tomorrow, which is fine, but now he has added that we have to review three other student papers by the 28th- break is officially 3/25-3/31. I'm a little peeved-- my paper? Fine, no biggie, knew about that and it doesn't fall due during break. But the peer reviews he expects us to do take at least an hour for each paper we have to review. My psych prof has a quiz due during break as well as a writing assignment. Those usually require a few hours with of reading and research, followed by at least an hour of writing.
Do any of you have the same thing happening? I'm not trying to change it, but I do think it's kind of inconsiderate of them to have us working through break...especially since they never grade work within two weeks of the due dates...
Really I just wanted to vent, I wanted to spend my break with my focus on my sciences-- I'm a little upset that they aren't honoring the break scheduled by the school. Aaaaaaargh!!!!!!!!!!

Luckily my chemistry class didn't have anything due during our break last week, but my Sociology professor had our midterm, a quiz and a writing assignment due the week of break.

Me too. I have a speech to prepare for the day I get back, plus a nutrition paper and exam to prepare fore while on break. I would have had another report due too but I finished that early, thank goodness. I don't mind too much. But it makes me annoyed. Especially because all my friends in other schools have free time during break and want to plan stuff together but I can't go!

I did not get a spring break at all with my online courses. This week should have been my spring break, and I had an algebra, stats and nutrition test, plus homework and discussion posts as well. The bright side is we finish up over a week before the on-campus classes in May.

There is no such thing as breaks while in nursing school, well thats what I think....lol. I am currently on spring break that ends this weekend. On wednesday I have a test and a final the following week. Although we have no assignments due, I have been studying throughout the break. All I can say is get used to not relaxing during breaks. I can't relax knowing that I have plenty to study for. Good luck on your assignments!!!
Oh, I know the 'real relaxing' is done for. I don't mind studying, or even having work due AFTER the break that I will need to work on, but having things due during the break is a little ridiculous. It figures, though... they're gen-Ed classes that EVERYONE at this school has to take... The profs must be bitter that nobody is taking their class because they 'want' to. My other instructors, the ones that deal primarily with the nursing and pre nursing students were more excited for break than the students were... They realize how hard we work, I guess.

I have a maths assignment due on good friday. I'm still waiting for my tutor to get back to me on how I have to submit it as I can't find her address details anywhere online, I have her email address, but no building address and I need to physically post this assignment.

At the community college I did my pre-reqs at, the school's policy was that online courses couldn't have any assignments due when the campus had breaks. So if there were holidays or during spring break, the instructors weren't allowed to make assignments due on those days.
I have no idea how the university I am going to be attending for nursing school handles it, and I probably won't find out as I won't have any online classes there.
