Anyone else nervous about scores on practice tests??

OK...question here...

I took Mosby's assess test in school, scored 191...said that 98% on people with that score pass NCLEX-RN..

Took a Kaplan review course. I am 3 weeks away from boards and have now been using the Kaplan cd-rom and Saunders' cd-rom. On the Kaplan one, I usually score between 62-64%, one time as low as 52%! On Saunders' I tend to do a little better, anywhere from 65-78%. At the end of the test, I always go back and review what I missed and why I missed it. I am trying not to let my scores freak me out into thinking I won't pass, but they are anyway!!

I did some cd-rom reviews a few years back before I took NCLEX-PN, and I vaguely remember scoring 70-80% usually. I passed that on the first try.

Anyone else getting freaked out, experiencing low scores on practice tests? Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks!

hi kacy, you're not alone.. i'm also experiencing what you're going through.:uhoh21: as of this moment i just took a break with my practice test (topic: health promotion & maintenance) using saunder's book. and tell you, i like to scream at the top of my lungs after i finished answering the exam..:crying2: oh well, it's a good thing i still got 3 weeks to review.. :uhoh3:

the best thing we could do is to pray, keep on reviewing & believe that we could pass the exam.

Hi Kacy! Yep, I've been doing lots and lots of practice questions in review books for my upcoming NCLEX-RN and it seems no matter how much I study, I tend to average like a 76 % on the practice tests! how frustrating! But when I took my school's HESI exit exam about a week ago, I scored a 1047! so who knows! :) I think we just have to have faith and keep plugging away! Good luck!

Hi Kacy...I am in the same boat. I am taking Kaplan currently and I am averaging about 62-64% on their practice tests.

With Saunders I normally do around 75%

I am just going to keep taking the tests and reviewing the questions.

Good luck with your NCLEX exam. I am still waiting for my school to mail out my transcript so that I can setup an exam day.

Same here...I'm doing so poorly at these practice tests and CDs that I'm starting to think that I wasted two years of my life in school for something I'll never be smart enough to do! :(

I haven't scheduled my NCLEX yet because I keep thinking I need to study just a little more...

good luck to you!

Thanks for replying everyone! It makes me feel a lot better that I am not alone. Last night I got a whopping 66% on a Kaplan test. I am just going to keep plugging away, doing questions and studying review books till I take Boards on June 8th. I'll let you know how it turns out.
