Any recommendation for Individual Program mentors

Hey everyone!

I'm planning to start my term at WGU in the near future. I was told you have the ability to choose your Program Mentor of your choice. Either from recommendation from co-workers etc.

Any recommendations as far as Program mentors who are passionate, patient, and HELPFUL?

    Do you mean your student mentor? I REALLY liked for my BSN program. I requested her again when I enrolled in the MSN, but she didn't have any experience with mentoring in the MSN program, and she had to decline.

    I just edited to remove her name, because I think it's against TOS to put people's full names. Feel free to PM me.

    I didn't choose my program mentor; rather, she was assigned to me.

    She's been pleasant and informative, although she was anti-acceleration at times. However, once I proved myself by passing all OAs on the first attempt, she started to suggest that certain courses be accelerated.

    They choose the mentor for you and if they aren't a good fit, you call student services and can change.

    My mentor is just the right mix of concerned and attentive without getting all up into my space (he doesn't spaz when I miss a call, just asks that I email and update to him and tell him how I'm doing). I lucked out, I've heard of mentors being very babysitter like. PM me if you want his name. I think he only does MSN students.

    My mentor is so amazing. I wish everyone can get a great mentor like her. I cannot stress how your experience in WGU is really affected by the mentor you get.

    I hope I can get a great mentor also! I know it will make all the difference. My enrollment counselor had said that my mentor and myself don't "gel" or see eye to eye on things to request a new mentor. He said WGU is there to support us :). I'm so excited to start this journey!
