I am waiting on my ATT right now- I am studying now and plan to do the Lacharty book cover to cover which I have already started. I am going to review the NCLEX saunders book as well (like not the whole thing though LOL ) I do not have enough cash right now to take a review course unfortunately so that is kind of out of the question. I am CONSIDERING UWORLD....

How long does everybody thing I should study like this for?! I mean I have always been a good test taker...A's and high B's....Is two weeks of hard core studying to soon to test from when I get my ATT?....UGH the stresses of NCLEX :crying2::scrying:

OH, I study for about 2 hours each day!! I forgot to add that in above!

Any help would be so amazing!! :cat::laugh:

UWorld is amazing. I highly recommend it. Their rationales are so detailed, it's great.

I've been doing 150 questions per day and studying areas I'm weaker in. I've been giving myself 2-3 weeks to study for the NCLEX. I think you're on the right track. The important thing is to RELAX. Anxiety does crazy things to the mind.

Good luck!

I took my application to sit to my DOPL on May 5th, I got my ATT on May 9th and it was good from May 10th to June 8th.

I went onto Pearson Vue an hour after getting my ATT and the first open spot to schedule my NCLEX was May 24th @ 8am, so I took it.

I studied everyday between, sometimes for 4 hours, sometimes 8 hours.

1. I used Kaplan (our school made us purchase it anyway and we did live review during the semester).

Watched all the decision tree video's. I took all the NCLEX sample, trainer and readiness tests. Then I did all but the last few Qbank questions 75 at a time.

2. Picmonic has some questions and if you don't know the answer theres a picture nemonic video you can play. We made our own in our pharm class and they helped me a ton. I did not buy a membership, signed in for free.

3. I bought Prioritization, Delegation, and Assignment: Practice Exercises for the NCLEX Examination, 3e by LaCharity PhD RN, Linda A. I used this when I was out and about (waiting in lines, for my daughter to get done with dance practice...) I was down to the last couple of chapters before I realized I could have been doing them online and sorting them according to my weaknesses. (code for free online was in new book)

4. I almost forgot to give you the link to the document that talks about breaking down the questions. It's a lot like Kaplan decision tree, but more understandable to me.It's only 24 pages - not dense pages though.

I passed my NCLEX in 75 questions.

Good luck!

It took a month to get my ATT and chose a test date a week after the day I received it. My school used ATI, and I am also doing uWorld and using Saunders.

Don't worry about not having money for a review course...just a waste of money anyway. They are only going to review what you already know. You seem to have done well in school so you have the knowledge to do well.

Stay positive!

Thank you all for the responses! The NCLEX is highly stressful to me because its over everything and anything- I am not a nervous test taker (thank GOD) but I really just want it done and behind me. I will be plugging away studying and hoping for my ATT soon (like yesterday...lol.) I have only been reviewing the Lacharty book for two days now and honestly I feel like I have already learned SOO much from it. I have decided I am going to pay money for UWORLD- it is pretty inexpensive and I have only heard GOOD things about it! Thanks again everyone

I registered on pearson vue and paid for the exam yesterday 5/25 and got my ATT today 5/26

When did you send in your application and which state do you live in?! JW because I feel that different states have their own pace haha.

I live in Illinois turned in paper work to the BON May 20th they approved the application on the 23rd and then registered with pearson vue yesterday got ATT today. I'm going for PN Nclex and people say with PNs the state moves faster. I don't know how true it is

Wow that is super quick!! I am not sure is that is true or not, I have never learned a lot about the PN test! I wish you well!

I got my ATT August 25th and chose September 17th for my NCLEX test date. My school incorporated Kaplan into our tuition so that was the only test prep program I used and I used the newest Saunders for reference because the Kaplan books lacked info in some areas. Our Kaplan instructor told us not to study more than 150 questions a day (unless doing a Qtrainer) and to remediate EVERY question, even the ones we got incorrect. Hope this helps! Good luck!
