Alabama

In the case of abdominal distention and foley cath insertion how much urine can safely be pulled from the patient initially?

Featured Replies

Is anyone else wondering what this question has to do with Alabama?

Does the Alabama BON have rules about that?

Really? This goes well with the thread about taking accurate BP's without a BP cuff.

Why would this be state specific? Would this not be patient or facility/physician protocol specific? I can guarantee the amount I can safely obtain from my 7yr old patient with urinary retention and abdominal distention is not the same as a 6'2" 200# 60 year old patient.

Sorry. I only know the answer for Kentucky.
