Advanced Pharm-Tests or Papers

Sorry if this is a silly question, but is advanced pharm a test or paper-focused course? I am taking it next semester online...so I'm not sure how they could administer tests? Can't you cheat if you take it online? I'm praying it is tests only, because I am SICK of writing papers! Any info appreciated:)

I took it at UAB online. You really can't cheat much because they time the exam. We didn't write any papers in this class.

I took a classroom based course and we had quizzes, exams AND papers. The papers were case studies and you had to figure out the appropriate drugs, dosage etc. Also, our final exam was open book (you could use a drug reference) but because of the time limit you had to have a good sense of what you were looking for.

Online tests are the same as open book tests in class. You need to know the info because you will never have enough time to look up every answer. Good luck!

I agree. My tests were timed and you did have to know your stuff because as another poster said, there is not enough time to look up every answer in the book. I also had case study type papers which dealt with the patients meds, side effects, interactions, etc.

Thanks for your responses....I hear this class can be killer. Did you find it much more involved than undergrad pharm? (I'm assuming yes:))

my class also had exams. made up of drawing diagrams, multiple choice, fill in the blank and short answer questions.

Pharmacology is NO JOKE, i dont know about online, but we had paper tests in class and you know how stressful thoses can be. Online tests are usually timed
