Hey I was trying to decide on which nursing school to attend in Memphis Tn. My choices are union university or baptist. I am a transfer student from u of m. I have prerequisites & a 2.7 gpa. I am taking classes in the spring to bring up my gpa. Which school would be best?

I know generally union university wants at least a 3.0 at least back when I was looking into schools. You need to contact these schools admissions offices on your own time in order to really answer your own question. No one on here is able to answer this directly as they do not represent the school.

Are they truly "choices" at this point, or are you simply trying to decide where to apply? If the latter, I would call each admissions department and ask how best to maximize your chance of acceptance. Your GPA is very low. I can't imagine one semester will get it up to where it needs to be ...at least not for the typical nursing program. There may be exceptions.

I've heard less than great things about Baptist... but honestly it all depends on what kind of student you are. I've known some folks sink in it, and I've known others to fly through it.

It's expensive though, so try to limit costs where you can (live off campus etc), and I think they still have some degree of mandatory religious education.

It does have a perk for seniors where they hire on new grads and defer some of the tuition cost for Sr. year if you contract with them iirc.

If you work hard, I think both are great, but I'd honestly want to go to Union over Baptist.

I would focus on getting my GPA up. A 2.7 is very low and not very competitive to get into any nursing school.

I concur with the rest of the members on this thread, 2.7 is extremely low and would not get you into any school (at least in my region). Try retaking some classes and get that GPA up.
