acceptance to accelerated programs in ON

Hi!

I was just wondering if anyone else was waiting around to find out whether or not they got into an accelerated nursing program in ON? Where did you apply and when do people generally hear back from admissions?

Just a quick question, what about students who had a low GPA from last year, but fairly good GPA this year, however sicne the session hasn't ended the marks aren't in yet. Will they (U of T) give us an admission as well? or no?

Yup! Undergrad was at U of T.

And hopefulnurse2012, I don't know if U of T will give you an admission or not. I'd recommend checking this page: Past Applicant Profile - also I'm pretty sure they'll be considering your 5 most recently completed credits at the time you applied.

Hey guys, I was just wondering what you guys have heard about the nursing program at UofT?

How time intensive it is? Is it hard to maintain a good GPA? Details about the program? etc. Thanks :)

Comments from current UofT nursing students would be especially helpful :)

Congrats jbethune!! I hope it's the program you wanted for your first choice?

I emailed both York and Bloomberg, and both are quote "continuing to send out acceptances until July". So I guess we all just have to wait patiently!

jbethune, did Bloomberg give you a specific date at which you have to accept by?

I called McMaster admissions on Friday and was told not to expect any news until May. I believe that matches what they say on their web-site, but I couldn't locate where I had read that, so I thought I'd call and confirm. Still no word from my other Ontario apps. Rationally, I know it's early still. Emotionally, I'm getting antsy.

I just got an email from uoftnursing and they have accepted me! Oddly enough, on the online web application, it says my application is still to be reviewed, so perhaps, it's not the best mode of checking our acceptances?

Congratulations!

Just wondering if anyone else has accepted / is planning on doing the AST Program at Queen's? I've been giving it more and more thought lately. If anyone also has any insight regarding the program, that'd be great! :)

Congrats, smkim24!! Are you going to accept? U of T is the only place I applied to so that's where I'll be going. It took a few days before the "Join U of T" page was updated to "accepted". Now I'm anxiously awaiting the letter to arrive in the mail so that I can accept the offer!

Ess_bee, there's still lots of time - from U of T at least, til June!! Hang in there. When is your interview at UBC?

Sigh..boxxyrn, I am completely in the same boat with the whole "degree holder preference" thing. It is the most nerve-racking experience I think I've ever had. :uhoh21:

Does anyone know if they send rejection letters? Because if they do, that would mean I'm still good enough for consideration, which would be just enough hope to keep me going.

Hey guys,

I'm glad to have came across this forum and know that I am not alone, patiently waiting for an offer. Congrats to all of those that got accepted! And those still waiting, stay strong, have hope and be patient.

Augh I know..they do send out rejections yeah, but not until June lol. Such a tease of a school! Like "let's give them a glimpse of hope and then crush them 2 months later". Oh, U of T. Did you get accepted anywhere else?
