About those select all that apply

Hi,

Fortunately I'm done with NCLEX for a while but I was wondering if there are tips that help with those dratted "select all that apply" questions. I normally test really well, almost never get rattled but those kill me!

What I did find is that my first inclination was to err on the side of caution and check nearly every option. Lol, what supplies would you bring in the room when preparing to do a dressing change...yup add the nasal cannula just in case! :wink2: Maybe its a coincidence but I think that once I lightened up on checking so many options my scoring got better on the practice questions. Anyone want to share other suggestions?

Hi and thanks for responding. Are you saying that the Lippincott study guide has good tips on these types on questions?

Yeah, I haven't found anything that helps with these, they are awful. You sit there and start thinking.. "Well, maybe I *do* need a purple hat on while I do that dressing..."

I just try to remember that it's not necessarily listed for a reason. I try to write my own list for what I'd take in (without looking at the answers), then check for those answers.

Lippincott sells a book for $20.00 of onlyalternate item questions, 250 of them. I had 15-20 select all that apply on my exam!!!!!!!!!!! I hate these questions and that book is the reason I passed. Good luck!:nurse:
