A Matter of Perspective - Funny

A little background. My children are Brock, a five year old boy and Lila, a 3 year old girl. I am their dad and an RN. Most of my male friends are also RNs. Our family doctor is a female and my wife has a good friend who happens to be a female IM doc .

The other day I heard the kids playing in their room. I wasn't sure what they were playing so I stopped outside the door to listen. Apparently they were talking about what they were going to be when they grow up.

This is what I heard:

Brock: No Lila! Only boys can be nurses. Girls have to be doctors!

Good one. That's funny. It's amazing how children DO observe though.

I remember years ago when my sister was helping her eldest do home-work. One of the questions was "What is a vegetarian?. My nephew was thinking deeply when my younger nephew said to my sister" Me Me i know" And he said "A vegetarian is a Nurse" Coz I happen to be vegetarian then.

I still remember that. Funny.

That's soooo cute!:lol2: It just goes to show you that kids are little sponges who absorb everything around them...

Honestly...some of the best nurses I know are males! You may be birthing a trend about the whole occupation, nurses and doctors!

funny, and a step in the right direction. :balloons:
