NYC Nurse Wannabe

Thank you Carlos! This has been extremely helpful. I can't wait to get started on this tomorrow....I'm taking the NLN amd NET this year and I'm almost certain this technique will help me on both. :)

I can't seem to get into any Nursing School in the NYC. I 've taken Beth Israel's NLN in April 09' and Adelphi's NET in Dec. 09'. I have a 3.5 GPA and all of my pre-reqs are complete (all A's and B's in all pre-reqs). I'm afraid my Nursing Entrance Exam scores are keeping me from getting into these programs. I have studied constantly on my own, but I feel that I just can't do well on these type of exams. My results from these exams were not that good. Does anyone know of any tutors, prep courses or just some good advice for these Nursing School Entrance Exams in the New York/New Jersey area??? PLEASE HELP!!

Took the NLN at Beth Isreal last spring of 09' and did not get in. I have all the pre-reqs done and I have a 3.5 gpa. The NLN was not easy. I am actually studying right now to take the NLN again this April 10'. Please pray for me!!!

Hey CALIGIRL 24- You are incredible! thanks for the info. I did well in all my other pre-req's. Thank you so much for the info. By the way, did you have SARA SELM for MICRO? I am taking her this FALL 2008! I am glad to know that the writing intensive potion of MICRO is not that bad. Are you in the program at BMCC?

I am taking MICRO AND SPEECH this fall 2008 at BMCC IN THE NYC....I am kind of looking foward to it. I was terrified of micro for a while, now I think I am ready!!!:wink2:

I am taking Micro this fall 2008 at BMCC in the NYC. I received A's in all my other pre-reqs. I HEAR MICRO IS A MONSTER! Honestly, I am a tiny bit scared. My micro class I am taking in the fall also has writing intensive attached to it. I really want to do well in the course, so I can go on to my clinicals in Spring 2009. Can anyone give me advice, wesites, or any materials I should look out for to help me prepare for this mercy-less course.

I am starting A&P 2 also this spring 08 at BMCC in the NYC on Jan 28. I studied really hard in A&P1.. It paid off I got an A-. What should we be aware of in A&P2?.

Yes, I am a pre-nursing student in NYC. I went to barnes and noble prior to starting my chemistry class. I picked up chemistry for idiots and any chemistry workbook I could get my hands on > I had to take organic chem. which was tuff. I had to get a personal tutor, which helped me. i got a B. Just take good notes and make friends in this class..it helps

Count me in. I started A&P1 Aug 30 along with English 201 at BMCC in the NYC. We have five exams and a final. The first exam is next week on Macromolecules. It's so much information, I am having a little problem memorizing all the info. I study almost everyday, and I have note cards..at least 27. My professor does not use the book and he is a little old, but funny and nice. I must get an A in this class. I'm sure I will, but pray for me anyway:o

As I am taking a &p 1 and english 201 this fall 2007 in NYC.. I have to also get an A. I work full time and it's a little crazy. I am going into my second week and it is not to bad..so far. My instructor is older and knows his stuff. I know we can do it, just stay on top of the game. I am already making note cards. Good luck!

I have been at BMCC going on my fourth semester this fall 2007. I am taking a&p1 and english 201 this fall 2007. How was english 201 and a&p1 when you took it? After this semester I will only have a&p2 and micro. left. I am a little worried now, because I want to get into the evening program but my GPA is now a measily 3.2. I received a c+ in organic chem, and a B in english 101 this past spring 2007, which brought my GPA down tremendously. I have to get both A's in a&p1 and english 201 this semester:o. I have to really get myself in gear this semester.
