I asked similar question yesterday. How long have you been waiting?

I would suggest that you give them six months or so. There is only one US Embassy in London, and they handle everything. If you get an appt scheduled earlier, then consider yourself quite lucky..............

There are quite a few people in the UK that are in the same boat as you....

I know that everyone is in a big hurry, but there is nothing that anyone cand o to speed things up. :)

Well I finally got my immigrant visa and leave for California on the 15th. For everybody who is at different stages of the very frustrating immigration process don't give up, it does eventually happen. I started the process in August 2003 so it has taken 18 months. Good luck to everyone :) :) :)

Hi Everyone

Thanks for thinking of me. Everything has gone really well. They had put me within an area that I didn't want to be and wasn't expecting but I have changed to a different department without any problems. I work three 12 hour day shifts which is what I wanted. The move itself went without any problems, my daughter has settled in well at school, has lots of friends already and is happy, she is 17. Although we have only been here a short time we have just bought a house and looking forward to moving around June. I can honestly say I have had no problems at all and at this point in time I do not miss England at all, particularly because on looking out of the window, the sun is shining. Good luck to everyone waiting it will be worth it! :) :) :) :) :)
